Rehabilitation and Expansion of Temane Power Plant
Introduction
In 2007 when the operation and management of the Temane Gas Power plant in Inhambane province was transferred to EDM, Tecnel Service was the company selected to carry out the ambitious Rehabilitation program of the plant. In 2013, Tecnel was once again the company selected to carry out the plant expansion, with the installation of 2 new Gas Generators of 2,600 kW each. Currently the power plant has an installed capacity of 11.800 kW.

Continuous support to EDM during the Warranty period of the two new Gas Generator, which began operation in December and April respectively.

Continuous post-warranty support to remaining 7 Gas Generators.
Other work performed
2013 – 2015

Expansion of the plant and installation of the Waukesha Generator Sets of 2,600 kW each. The expansion included the construction of a new engine room, new 11/33 kV substation, new compressed air system and all auxiliary equipment, including crane, radiators, etc.

All of the works listed above were "Turnkey" and included a large training program for EDM staff that took place locally and abroad to ensure proper operation and maintenance of generator sets and the rest equipment.
2011 - 2013

Continuation of the rehabilitation program with the supply, assembly and commissioning of the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Guascor Gas Generator Sets.
2009 - 2010

Continuation of the rehabilitation program with the supply and assembly of the Third and Fourth Guascor Generating Groups, which commence their commercial operation in 2010. At the same time, the small and obsolete 300 kW generator sets that existed in the plant were progressively removed when EDM started the operation of the Temane Power Plant in 2007.

2007 - 2008

Beginning of the rehabilitation program of Temane Power Station with the supply and assembly of the first Guascor Gas Generator Group, with a power of 950 kW. This generator set starts its commercial operation in the year 2008.
