Who are we?


Tecnel Service, a company comprised of solely Mozambican capital, has been operating in the country for over 24 years in the energy sector. Currently servicing the largest Mozambican and international companies, Tecnel Service has distinguished itself with the reliability and quality of its products and services. This is a result of investment and development of technical competence and its solid relations with large multinationals possessing state-of-the-art technologies, either as partner contractors or project development.


Our strong presence in the Mozambican market combined with the knowledge acquired over the last decades makes Tecnel Service a company of reference in its sector.

Tecnel Service was honored "Service Company of the Year" award in 2015 by the INNOQ (National Institute for Standardization and Quality) and was among the top ten Mozambican companies from the 100 largest companies by the renowned international auditor KPMG in 2012 and 2014, further validating Tecnel Service’s worthiness of the great responsibility and confidence placed on us by our customers.

Ambition is one of the core values the company was founded on which has led us to take steps in acquiring recognition by institutions, entities and companies in the field of certification and quality.


Tecnel Service has already been certified by ISO 9001 and is currently in the process of certification in both environment (ISO 14001) and safety (OHSAS 18001).

Our History

After the National Independence, in 1977 the merger of a group of companies resulted in the creation of a state-owned company of electrical engineering namely Electromoc E.E. In 1992 this company was privatized and was renamed Tecnel SARL.


From the Service and Technical Assistance Division of Tecnel SARL in 1996 the company ABB Tecnel was created. A company between ABB, a multinational in the engineering sector with 60% of the capital and Tecnel SARL with 40%. ABB Tecnel operated in the field of electrical engineering and was primarily engaged in the sale, repair and assistance of electric motors, transformers, generators and low, medium and high voltage equipment.

With the acquisition of ABB’s stake in ABB Tecnel Lda, in 2007 Tecnel Service, Lda was formed with solely Mozambican capital. Tecnel Service until this day has maintained strong commercial ties with ABB and other highly reputable international companies.

In recent years, Tecnel Service has been making important investments in infrastructure expansion and modernization of equipment, as well as investing in the recruitment, training and qualification of workers and technicians,  a self-empowerment necessary to face future challenges in the energy sector.

The state-owned electric company Electromoc E.E. was founded.



Tecnel Sarl was formed from the state-owned company Electromoc E.E.


ABB Tecnel, Lda partnership was created. 60% ABB

40% Tecnel Sarl.

Tecnel Service, Lda. was created. ABB sold its stake.


Tecnel Service in Gorongosa Business Club

Tecnel Service is a founding member of this Club created by Gorongosa National Park, considered to be one of the most biodiverse conservation areas in the world.

Gorongosa Business Club brings together a group of the most prestigious companies and national and foreign entities operating in Mozambique, which contribute to the restoration of Gorongosa National Park in a multifaceted way, namely in the Conservation, Research, Tourism, Protection and Community Development components.

The valuable contribution made by these companies and entities is based on a five-year program of support for the activities carried out in these five areas through substantial annual financial contributions.

Tecnel Service is proud to support the scientific and research activities developed by the ED Wilson Biodiversity Laboratory at Gorongosa National Park.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Established in the company for more than 20 years this Fund aims to finance the company's employees by granting loans at interest rates lower than those practiced by local bank, at zero concession and guarantee costs and with very accessible and favorable payment terms and conditions.

The Fund is funded from the sale of obsolete assets and other products and materials used and without utility to the company.

Its management is carried out by representatives appointed by the employees, advised by the management of the company and the criteria for the attribution and reimbursement of the credits granted obey the rules established in the Statute of the Fund, also created by the employees themselves.

The Fund is proud of having a non-performing loan repayment rate of 0% and has sound reserves that ensure its sustainability and continuity in the medium and long term.

Tecnel Service contributes to the development of this innovative cultural project in the field of singing and classical music, which involves more and more young people from the most diverse social extracts in the learning of music and singing, in the creation of orchestras and choirs, in the formation of composers And creators of music and in spreading, promoting and promoting these forms of cultural expression.

ISO 9001: 2008 Certification

The National Quality Standards Institute delivered ISO 9001 quality certificates to Tecnel Service on May 10th, 2016. Tecnel Service was one of the 16 companies in Mozambique to be certified by INNOQ for quality and management systems.

Tecnel Service is in the migration process from current ISO 9001: 2008 standard certification to ISO 9001: 2015, while simultaneously preparing for ISO 14001: 2015 (Environment) and OSHAS 18001 (HST)
